TK/Kindergarten Registration

Will your child be 5 years old by September 1, 2024? It's time to register them for Kindergarten!

There are big changes in Transitional Kindergarten!

Over the next four years, the age of students eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) changes. By 2025, there will be universal TK for ALL 4-year-olds due to a new California Education Code.

If your child turns five years old between September 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025, they are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten. Reach out to your school district to learn more about TK registration.

Upcoming Changes for TK Eligibility Birthdays

In the 2025-2026 school year, your child can be registered for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) if they have their 4th birthday by September 1, 2025.

We encourage you to get your child registered for Kindergarten and TK as soon as possible so school districts can plan for teachers, extra facilities, extra supplies, etc.

We encourage all parents and guardians of incoming TK/Kindergarten students to call your local school district office for more information on their registration process.
