Think Twice

Stop the VOID Presentations
The Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Lake County Office of Education have partnered with Stop the VOID to bring presentations on the dangers of fentanyl.
Our schools are committed to the health and safety of all students.
To address the rise in fentanyl-related incidents affecting teens, we hosted Stop the VOID, a respected organization dedicated to drug prevention and education, during the week of December 9-13, 2024.
These assemblies, designed for students in 7th grade and up, aimed to:
- Educate students about the risks and realities of fentanyl.
- Empower them to make informed decisions.
- Provide practical tips for staying safe and helping their peers.
Community Presentations
In addition to student assemblies, community presentations were also offered. Parents were encouraged to attend to see firsthand what their children are learning and gain valuable information about protecting our youth.
Think Twice
The "Think Twice" campaign, in partnership with the Lake County Sheriff's Office, focuses on raising awareness about the dangers of drug use, particularly fentanyl, which poses a significant threat in communities.
The campaign encourages teens to think critically before accepting or trying drugs, highlighting that even a single pill can be deadly due to the prevalence of fentanyl in counterfeit drugs.
Key messages include:
- The importance of staying informed
- Recognizing the risks
- Making empowered choices to protect your future
Resources for education and support are also provided to help teens and parents navigate these challenges. (Links to resources will be available soon)
