Career and college readiness is defined as the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to be successful in post-secondary education and/or training that leads to gainful employment.

It encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability. Learning does not stop after graduation; it is a lifelong journey.

In today’s evolving job market, it is crucial that we equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.

Whether attending a four-year university or community college, enrolling in career technical education, or joining the military, it is essential for students to have a plan after high school graduation.

According to the Association for Career and Technical Education, students who engage in career technical education (CTE) are more likely to graduate high school, enroll in post-secondary school, and secure higher-paying jobs.

The earlier students take advantage of career and college education opportunities, the greater the benefits.

Allowing every student to explore and engage in college and career opportunities will promote social mobility and reduce achievement gaps.

I encourage our community members to mentor and guide our youth by sharing their insights about education and career paths.

By coming together and prioritizing career and college readiness, we can build a resilient, innovative community filled with opportunities for everyone. Let's work together to create a brighter future for our community.
