The State of Our Children

Community partners from around the lake united in January of 2019, to develop the State of Our Children report and create a "data snapshot" of issues affecting children in Lake County.

The report analyzes the following areas of concern:

  • Early Prenatal Care
  • Fetal Alcohol-Drug Exposure
  • Youth Substance Use
  • Economic Wellbeing
  • Education
  • Child Safety and Security
  • Delinquent Activity

The statistics outlines in the report are based off of 10 months of research and collaboration by community organizations including First 5 Lake County, Healthy Start, Motherwise, Lake County Probation, Lakeview Health Center, Lake County Tribal Health, Lake County Public Health, North Coast Opportunities, Adventist Health Clear Lake, Lake Family Resource Center, Redwood Community Services, Easterseals Northern California, Lake County Children’s Council, Redwood Coast Regional Center, Lake County Department of Social Services and the Lake County Office of Education.
