The Educational Services Department creates engaging sessions to bring to Lake County classrooms for both teachers and students that involve different sections of STEAM.
STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics to engage students.
Our Learning Support Specialists visit classrooms in Lake County to offer engaging science, robotics and engineering lessons.
Sessions give teachers the opportunity to see the discussions, engineering, labs and activities in action with their own students. This provides the benefits of a science convention or workshop right to the classroom.
All supplies, materials and equipment needed to do the experiments are provided by the program.*
Sessions can take 50 minutes to 3 hours to complete, with flexibility for classroom scheduling.

- Mousetrap Cars (8th - 12th grade)
- Balloon Cars (5th - 6th grade)
- Steady Hand Electricity Game (4th grade)
- James Webb Space Telescope (4th - 12th grade)
- Robotics (K - 8th grade)
- Reynolds System, Inc. (RSI) Robotics (9th - 12th grade)

Seasonal Weather & Engineering Solutions to a Weather Hazard (3rd grade)

Alka-Seltzer Rockets (6th - 8th grade)

Health of Clear Lake (9th - 12th grade)

Environmental Literacy within Lake County (K - 12th grade)

Scale in the Solar System (4th through 10th grade)

Assistance with implementation of the Caring of Clear Lake modules

Assistance with implementation of the Lake County Cascading Hazards lessons
Each session follows the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
