Science of the Positive

The Science of the Positive is a framework that examines how positive factors influence culture and experience. It emphasizes measuring and enhancing these positive elements, operating on the core belief that the positive is real and worth cultivating in ourselves, our families, workplaces, and communities.
At the Lake County Office of Education (LCOE), we are excited to adopt the Science of the Positive framework to foster a more positive and supportive environment. Here is a list of the 8 core principles:
-
Be Positive
-
Be Present
-
Be Perceptive
-
Be Purposeful
-
Be Perfected
-
Be Proactive
-
Be Passionate
-
Embrace the Paradoxical
By integrating these principles into our daily practices, we aim to create a culture that not only acknowledges challenges but also actively seeks to build upon the positive aspects inherent in our community.
