Computer Science Cafe
Dig in to the crisp flavors of computational thinking - it’s not as new as it seems! Communication, organization, data analysis, and inference are familiar ingredients, now spiced up with a dash of program design and a sprinkle of cybersecurity. Catering to general education teachers at all grade levels, K-12, with an emphasis on cross-curricular integration rather than teaching "one more thing".
These modules are grounded in the core concepts of the CS (Computer Science) Standards. They can be combined if time allows or offered ‘a la carte’ during staff meetings or professional learning sessions. Concepts will be paired with foundational computer science practices, emphasizing themes such as equity, powerful ideas, computational thinking, and broad applications. Standards will be illustrated with examples and lesson ideas tailored to specific grade levels.
