Programs for adults and the community

  • It is a priority for each of California’s 58 County Offices of Education to provide services to the state’s local school districts. Yet the Lake County Office of Education also provides services to those who have graduated out of the K-12 grade education system, and to the members of our Lake County community.

Career Tech Education (CTE) Adult Training in Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant programs is available for high school graduates or those who passed the GED, who wish to purse this postsecondary education and career.

The Lake County Office of Education strongly supports workforce development in Lake County. Our Teach Lake County program is a multi-faceted program designed to support teacher credentialing. We also offer workforce development through our Substitute Teachers program, for those who have received their bachelor’s degree or higher.

Live Scan is available by appointment at our Lakeport office for those applying for paid or volunteer positions that require fingerprinting.

Adults ages 18+ interested in earning high school equivalency can do so by earning a high school diploma in an Adult Education program or by passing the HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) or GED (General Education Development exam).
