Lake County Children's Council

  • Established in 1992, the Lake County Children’s Council provides education and training to schools, parent groups, community organizations and professional groups about the prevention of child abuse and neglect, both inside and outside of the home.

The Lake County Children's 2015-2020 goal statement is, "Child abuse prevention through the transformation of Lake County into a trauma-informed, resilience focused community."

Being Trauma-Informed is when the care we provide is informed by basic knowledge of how traumatic experiences and traumatic stress may impact the peopel we are serving. Read more about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs.)

Being Resilient is having the strength and ability to bounce back after experiencing hard times or a tough situation. Read more about resiliency.

Get involved! Attend a trauma-informed, resilience focused training.

Check our website calendar or the Lake County Office of Education Facebook page to find an upcoming training.
