Erin Wurm

1st Grade Teacher | Upper Lake Elementary School | Upper Lake Unified School District

Erin Wurm has 9 years total teaching experience with 8 years at Upper Lake Elementary.

Wurm holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Business and Psychology and is currently pursuing her master’s in education with a focus on social-emotional learning.

Inspired by her own teachers and a passion for learning, she became an educator to help students discover their potential and experience the joy of growth and understanding.

Wurm builds lasting relationships with her students and families, often staying connected long after they’ve moved on, creating a classroom culture rooted in care and belonging.

Each morning in her classroom begins with personal greetings, laughter, and meaningful routines that set a joyful and focused tone for the day.

She uses brain breaks, music, manipulatives, and game-based activities to engage students, supporting both academic development and emotional well-being.

Wurm incorporates differentiated instruction, hands-on materials, and flexible pacing to meet every student’s unique needs while fostering collaboration and inclusion.

She was selected to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders, reflecting her ongoing leadership and commitment to professional growth.

Known for her humility, she often supports others from behind the scenes and celebrates shared success rather than individual recognition.

Wurm is a consistent advocate for students with behavioral and academic challenges, providing them with emotional support, structure, and celebration of success.

A role model in her district, she is recognized for her authenticity, tireless service, and community involvement, representing the profession with heart and excellence.
