• Lake County has moved back into the red tier under the State of California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy effective Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

This means that all TK-12 schools in Lake County can implement reopening plans for in-person instruction. Schools have a three-week period to open starting on the day the county moves into the red tier.

Most Lake County schools plan to reopen to in-person instruction for grades 7-12 by Monday, March 22, 2021.

Please check your individual school's website or Facebook page for the most up-to-date information. To reopen, schools must complete a COVID-19 Safety plan which will be uploaded to their website.

The Lake County Office of Education will continue to assist our schools and districts in any way we possibly can. Thank you all for your patience during the last year.

Immediately below you will find an updated version of the Lake County Schools COVID-19 information sheet, that aligns to the California Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines. The most current graphic is dated December 1, 2020, and was created in conjunction with the Lake County Department of Public Health.

This graphic takes you through the steps you need to take if a student or staff member tests positive for C19, test negative for C19, has been in close contact with someone who testsed positive for C19, and several other scenarios. Click on the blue link in the graphic to access a letter template in English and Spanish for when there is a positive case, or browse our letter templates at the bottom of this webpage.

Below this document, you will find links to other information sheets, previous opening plans, and a variety of templates and graphics.

Please note that the June 25, 2020 plan is no longer aligned with current CDPH guidance, and is no longer applicable.
