Teach Lake County Sample Credentialing Timeline
Application
To apply, individuals must attend a Teach Lake County Info Session.

The 2023 TLC Pre-Service Application will be available soon. To be alerted when the application is available, please Fill out a Teach Lake County Interest Form to be added to the 2024 Pre-Service Interest List.
Eligibility
Teach Lake County Pre-Service Program candidates must complete the following before beginning coursework:
- Submit an application
- Pay a non-refundable application fee of $250
- Submit all official transcripts, confirming a BA or BS degree
- Complete the California Basic Skills Requirement
- Obtain Certificate of Clearance
- Complete all Advisement tasks
- Attend Pre-Service Orientation
After successful completion of the TLC Pre-Service Program, candidates must meet the following requirements before being recommended for their Intern credential:
- Demonstrate Subject Matter Competency (CSET exams or coursework)
- Complete US Constitution requirement
- Submit a clear Tuberculin test
- Provide a hire letter for a public school teaching position
Grants
The Golden State Teacher Grant will award up to $20,000 in grant funds for Teach Lake County candidates who commit to teaching in California for four years after earning their preliminary credential. Visit gstg.csac.ca.gov for more information. Candidates are eligible to apply for this grant after completing the TLC Pre-Service Program and earning an Intern credential.
Tuition
- Pre-Service: $2,000
- Lake County Teacher Rate: $1,600
- General Education, Multiple Subject: $6,875
- Lake County Teacher Rate: $5,500
- Education Specialist, Mild to Moderate: $7,500
- Lake County Teacher Rate: $6,000
Information Sessions
Information Sessions are held each year in September and October. This informational meeting will answer all your questions about earning your teaching credential with Teach Lake County.
