The Lake County Office of Education has partnered with the Placer County Office of Education for an Early Education Teacher Development Grant.
The goal of the grant is to increase the number of highly qualified early education individuals to serve in Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), and Kindergarten (K) classrooms.
College tuition support is available for:
- Existing Credentialed Teachers
- Support in obtaining 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units to teach TK
- Existing non-credentialed early childhood educators
- Support to earn a Bachelor's degree, Multiple Subject Credential, or P-3 credential (preschool - 3rd grade)
- Support toward earning additional ECE units for Child Development Permits
- Others who are interested in a career in Early Childhood Education
Total funding includes:
- Up to $1,500/participant/ Summer- Fall 2023 for tuition toward Bachelor's degree or Teacher Credential.
- Up to $375/participant/ Summer-Fall for tuition toward Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
- Local support: books
- Candidates are responsible for remaining tuition costs
The amount of funding is annual and follows a fiscal year calendar.
