Science, Robotics and Engineering Outreach

  • Sign up for an Outreach Opportunity.

Our Learning Support Specialists visit classrooms to offer engaging science, robotics and engineering lessons.

Sessions give teachers the opportunity to see the discussions, engineering, labs and activities in action with their own students. This provides the benefits of a science convention or workshop right to the classroom.

All supplies, materials and equipment needed to do the experiments are provided by the program.*

Sessions can take 50 minutes to 3 hours to complete, with flexibility for classroom scheduling.

    Sessions include:

    • Mousetrap Cars (8th - 12th grade)
    • Balloon Cars (5th - 6th grade)
    • Steady Hand Electricity Game (4th grade)
    • James Webb Space Telescope (4th - 12th grade)
    • Robotics (K - 8th grade)
    • Rig Survey International (RSI) Engineering (9th - 12th grade)
    • Force & Magnet Races
    • Seasonal Weather & Engineering Solution to a Weather Hazard
    • Alka-Seltzer Rockets

Each session follows the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

If you are interested in a session, contact Science Learning Support Specialist - Science, and 2011 California State Teacher of the Year, Jennifer Kelly at jkelly@lakecoe.org.
