Renaissance Court School
Renaissance Court School is located at the Lake County Juvenile Hall. Staffed by instructors Brian Figg, April Zinn, and instructional aide, Shawn Kealey, Renaissance School provides a quality educational program for incarcerated youth of Lake County.
Our program includes instructional strategies designed to respond to the different learning styles and abilities of all students. Currently, two separate school sessions are utilized to address the unique needs and individual achievement levels of the student population. A specific block of time has been designated for PE and all wards participate in this combined activity. Additionally, several community agencies sponsor small group instruction. The academic program sessions run concurrent with alternative program offerings provided by: Lake County Alcohol and Other Drug Services, Regional Occupation Program (Work skills, Computer skills), Safe School/Healthy Students, and Lake Family Resource Center. School is in session all year long with the exception of regular school holidays or specified days approved by the County Board of Education.
